Our plant located in Callao has a production capacity of 200,000 tons per year. We have an ecological galvanizing line that maintains the highest quality standards, under international standards and certifications, including ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.
We are committed to sustainable development and are the only plant in Latin America and the fourth in the world focused on reducing environmental pollution, with a 100% lead-free production, bringing to zero the concentration of this toxic substance in fumes, vapors and drainage emissions.
We are proud to be the first plant with the first 100% lead-free galvanizing line in Latin America, whose technology allows us to produce galvanized wire and its derivatives without this chemical element that is harmful to the health of operators and the environment.
The process for the manufacture of wires and steel solutions begins with the arrival of the raw material at Prodac: a long hot-rolled circular section steel bar. It can come in diameters ranging from 5.5 to 18 mm and in 2-ton rolls.
It is a cold forming process without loss of material, which consists of gradually reducing the diameter of the wire by passing it through several cone-shaped dies. As the wire is drawn it hardens, so in order to reach very thin diameters it is necessary to subject it to subsequent heat treatments.
To prevent the wires from rusting, they can be covered with a zinc film through the hot-dip galvanizing process, which consists of immersing the wire in a bath of liquid zinc at a temperature of 450 °C and with 99.99% purity.
After the wire has been subjected to the different heat treatments or corrosion coatings, it can be sold as a finished product in the following presentations: black wire, drawn wire, annealed wire, plasticized galvanized wire, among others.
