Prodac Expands Its Construction Solutions Portfolio with the Acquisition of Grating Perú

SCROLL

Prodac has finalized the strategic acquisition of Grating Perú, a company formerly owned by the Meiser Group — the global leader in industrial safety flooring solutions. This move aims to strengthen Prodac’s presence in the Infrastructure and Construction sectors, enabling the company to manufacture and market metallic grating for industrial floors, offshore platforms, and walkways, securing a dominant position in the Peruvian market and strong export levels across the region.

According to Manuel Gallofré, General Manager of Prodac, this acquisition allows the company to broaden its portfolio — which already includes over 300 wire and wire-derived solutions — to enhance efficiency, safety, and productivity for projects in the construction, mining, industrial, agricultural, and home improvement sectors.

“In addition to working with wire and wire-derived solutions manufactured under strict plant safety standards and ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and OHSAS 18001 certifications, we will now also produce and market metallic grating floors in compliance with ANSI/NAA and DIN standards. We expect to continue consolidating our leadership in steel transformation and wire coating solutions, especially in Ecuador, Chile, Bolivia, Central America, and the United States — markets where Grating Perú already holds a strong position,” Gallofré explains.

With this expanded portfolio, sales generated by the Infrastructure and Construction unit are expected to grow, further increasing its contribution to the company’s total revenue. This acquisition adds more than 30 additional products, positioning Prodac in 2021 as the company with the highest value-added offer in Infrastructure and Construction solutions.

“Currently, between 25% and 28% of our revenue comes from construction projects. With this acquisition, Prodac expects to increase sales this year by US$ 7 million, reaching an estimated consolidated sales figure of US$ 239 million in 2021,” Gallofré adds. As a strategic partner for small, medium, and large construction companies, Prodac participates in infrastructure projects worldwide, exporting its core business lines to over 45 countries across five continents.

This acquisition is a step forward in Prodac’s goal to provide the market with complex, high-value steel solutions, strengthening its position as a leader in the sector.
